RIM launches BlackBerry Bold 9900 Smartphone in Malaysia

Research In Motion (RIM) has recently launched the new BlackBerry Bold 9900 smartphone in Malaysia. Customers will be able to pre-register through Celcom, DiGi and Maxis, while in-store availability is slated for 15th September. The BlackBerry Bold 9900 is the thinnest BlackBerry smartphone yet at only 10.5mm, and the first to offer the perfect union of a high performance keyboard and touch display integrated within the iconic BlackBerry Bold design, and powered by BlackBerry OS 7. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Official Pricing from Celcom

Celcom has revealed its pricing for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 based on its broadband subscription.You can go for either Broadband Basic and Broadband Advance and choose a contract duration between 12 months and 24 months. In general, you can get the Tab 10.1 at about RM1500, and save up to RM431, depending on the plan you choose. The pricing for tab is rather competitive and I reckon its sale volume in Malaysia will be as good as iPad since many are turning to Android OS and apps. Celcom has confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be launched tomorrow (20th August 2011) and they have come up with special discounts for lucky customers as well as early birds. Some lucky few (no mentioning of how many but should be around 20 only) at Piazza e@Curve can get the highly anticipated tablet at only RM99 but no details on their bundled fee or contract are given thus far. Early birds (said to be the first 300 at Piazza and 50 at Queensbay Mall Penang and Celcom Centre Jalan Kempas) at the following locations can also get it for only RM99 with free Samsung premium items. Celcom’s Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 to be Launched This Weekend (RRP: RM1899)

Celcom has updated its teaser banner by indicating that Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be launched in about 4 days or this coming Saturday. The recommended retail price is around RM1899 but Celcom would bundle it with its plans to make the price more attractive. Several sources have said Celcom is looking to priced Tab 10.1 at around RM1200 to RM1400. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is one of the most highly anticipated Android tablets in Malaysia this year especially after its introduction into the Indonesia market. There is also rumours spreading that Maxis will be offering Galaxy Tab 8.9 later next month!

Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS Leaked: Weird Name, Tasty Lure?

Android Police has released what to be the first pictures of Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS in action. For those of you who are not following Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich is not a food, it’s a codename for the next version of the OS. It is quite apparent that the new version will come with a revamped launcher and app drawer. There is also a panorama mode for the camera. It seems that the OS will be getting more of interface changes and it was rumoured that Nexus S will be receiving the OS via update, but the upcoming “Nexus Prime” will be getting it first.
