Cinta – Not Just A Lame Love Story

Yes, Cinta (2006), the latest Malay movie by the famous Kabir Bhatia. I was a bit sceptical to watch Malay movies especially in recent years, but this film suddenly inject a fresh air into my prespective on our local films as how i’ve rated highly on Sepet and Gubra. Why? Simply because it’s NOT a typical Malay movie, which is famous for its “lame” plot and clumsy lighting and cheap sets. So, what so special about Cinta (2006)? It’s a 5-in-1 love story. It’s about five modern-day love stories set in the busy city of Kuala Lumpur and its everyday people. While each story is independent, the characters are connected to one another, either by circumstances and coincidence. With love as its universal theme, the…

Irony

Today, i was supposed to see a doctor. The only problem is, i don’t feel well enough to do so.

Follow your destiny…

There comes a time in your life when you realise that if you stand still, you will remain at this point forever. You realise that if you fall and stay down, life will pass you by. Life’s circumstances are not always what you might wish them to be. The pattern of life does not necessarily go as you plan. Beyond any understanding you might at times be led in different directions that you have never imagined, dreamed and designed. Yet if you had never put any effort into choosing a path, or tried to carry out your dream, then perhaps you would have no directions at all. Rather than wondering about or questioning about the direction your life has taken, accept the fact that there…

Counting my blessings

People living in Malaysia (perhaps including myself) often do not appreciate the great things that this great country offers them, the freedom that they enjoy, and the many things that make their lives easier and safer. To appreciate all of this, you will have to live a few days without them, without what you’re used to on a daily basis; you will have to experience living in a totally different culture, a totally different country. Perhaps, that’s what we all need to do. Experience life differently. Travelling outside of your own cocoon will definitely give you a different perspective about your life and the lives of other people living on this planet of ours called earth. That’s my plan for this holiday. Go out and explore!…

There goes the title…

Arsenal lost yet again, to Fulham early this morning. As i’ve predicted since the start of the season, Arsenal will be struggling to challenge for the title and it would be a very difficult year for Arsenal in all competitions. It turns out that my prediction is true after all. This is not because of the squad or Wenger, it’s the matter of “luck” and various external factors such as psychological strength and moving into the new Emirates Stadium. Moving into a new stadium especially, will require the Gunners to adapt the new pitch size and eventually have to change their style of play, which had blended excellently with Highbury. With bigger pitch size and playing Arsenal’s trademark beautiful football will need the players to have…

Semoga rohnya kekal dirahmati Tuhan. I…

The Itch

Oh well, looking at how Esther expressing her boredom triggers me to express mine as well. Hehehe. As for today, it is perhaps my least productive day ever. Why? I woke up at 7.30 am today, walking towards the bathroom to brush my teeth and clean myself up. I went back to my room. On my way there, my knee had a slight itch. I reached out my hand and scratched the knee in question. The itch was relieved and i was able to walk back to my room. The next thing i know, i was yawning. And so, i put my body back on my bed and slept. At 4pm sharp, i woke up!! Yeah, that was the day that was…. P/s: Oh yeah,…
