The multi-talented Jay Chou has been appointed as ASUS Chief Designer and in the glamorous event few days ago, the Taiwanese PC manufacturer  introduced a new notebook dubbed N43SL, which is specially designed by the Green Hornet star, Jay.  The Jay Chou-inspired design includes a “unique” Baroque-style J key that replaces the regular J key and Chinese porcelain adornment on the exterior of the chassis. The N Series notebook is also pre-loaded with several songs hand-picked by the musician.

Build on the success of ASUS N Series notebook (which I personally enjoy using it until now), N43SL Jay Chou Special Edition comes with a 14-inch LED-backlit widescreen display that has an HD 720p native resolution (1366-by-768 pixels). In addition, the device sports a second generation Sandy Bridge Intel Core i7-2630QM central processing unit (also available in Core-i3 and Core-i5 editions) with four cores (8 threads) clocked at 2.0GHz (up to 2.9GHz via Turbo Boost 2.0 Technology). Plus, it is equipped with a discrete video card in form of a NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M with up to 2GB of dedicated VRAM, up to 8GB internal memory and 750GB hard drive. The are four USB Ports (1xUSB 3.0, 3xUSB 2.0) and HDMI port.

The notebook is currently sold for US$1300 in Taiwan and no news about the pricing in Malaysia yet but do expect it to be around RM3,900. On other note, ASUS claimed that this model will not be released out of Asia.
