While Digi is said to be the first Malaysian telco to offer Mobile WiFi or MiFi, it is still in pre-ordering stage. And Guess what, Maxis is now offering Huawei MiFi device through its Talk Surf Save package. Under this package, you’ll need to subscribe to a voice plan and a data plan in order to be eligible to get the Huawei MiFi modem (ES832) at RM280 (6-month contract) or RM380 (no contract).

There are four broadband plans (data plan) and 10 postpaid plans to choose from. The minimum combo is of course 1.5GB Broadband (RM48) and  Value First (RM30) for a total of RM78 monthly fee.

More details on this package is available at Maxis website and the availability of the Huawei MiFi device is depending on stock at your nearest Maxis centre. Now before you jump into the bandwagon and get the Huawei MiFi device, you’ll need to consider whether you really need it. MiFi is basically a sharing of your 3G connection up to 5 devices. So say your 3G connection is already not up to par, would you want to share with more devices? Well, think carefully.
