Received the update newsletter from Apple, highlighting the latest generation of their iPod products launched on September 11, 2009. Not only they are updated with several new features, they are decently priced as well, making iPod more affordable. A quick check on Apple Store Malaysia showed the latest pricing and updates.

iPod Touch

Updates on iPod Touch are highly anticipated, with many iPod fans are craving for a new camera and microphone. Unfortunately, they won’t get that yet. This 3rd generation iPod Touch comes with a better processor, similar to the one that powers iPhone 3GS. It also comes with a doubled capacity of 64GB. Plus, it is now packed with the latest OS 3.1, an upgrade available for free. While the 8GB version is already available, the other two are still pending angency approval.

64GB – RM1,599
32GB – RM1,199
8GB –   RM779

iPod Nano

The new iPod Nano comes with a new camera. Sadly, it only supports video recording. As usual, there are 9 colors available in either 8GB or 16GB versions. Another addition to the new Nano is that it features a new built-in pedometer that will sync with Nike+ Software without the need of any external devices. The device will be able to keep track of different exercise calculations such as steps taken and calories burnt.

8GB – RM599
16GB – RM719

iPod Classic

Some Apple fans like me still prefer the iPod Classic. And for this latest update, no change in price is noted but it comes with a bigger capacity of 160GB!

iPod Classic 160GB – RM979

iPod Shuffle

Finally, the cute and amazingly affordable iPod Shuffle series. iPod Shuffle was updated quick some time ago so no updates on this apart from the changes in pricing and the addition of a new stainless steel edition that is only available in 4GB.

2GB – RM229.00
4GB – RM299.00
Special Edition 4GB – RM379

And of course, don’t forget to download the latest iTunes 9 as well! For more information on pricing and product info, check out our local Apple Store,

I definitely do not need any high tech stuff like this right now, but somewhere in the future it might come in real handy and I appreciate you doing the research and bringing this news to me. Informative post!
