Maxis BlackBerry PlayBook Packages

BlackBerry Playbook will be launched on 16th July 2011 and Maxis has revealed its packages much earlier. Maxis is offering PlayBook for both its Bis and non-Bis users from as low as RM999 (24 month contract on 3GB Bis Plan). You can see the breakdown of the plans and packages in the following screenshot taken from Maxis website: You may also get a discount of RM100 for the above prices if you pair up your PlayBook with the purchase of Bold 9780 or Torch 9800. DiGi iPad Data Plans Starts at RM30 Monthly

DiGi finally introduces its own data plans for iPad users, with specific target on light users. DiGi offers plans for 500MB, 2GB and 6GB with monthly subscription fee starting from RM30. For iPad Lite package, you’ll be charged 5sen/MB after you exceed the 500MB quota (capped at RM90). With the plans, DiGi specified that the likely download speed is 700kbps and upload speed is 200kbps. You are advised to check the coverage in your area before subscribing to avoid disappointment. There are other important notes that you need to pay attention to, such as the RM50 advance upfront payment (non-refundable) and RM2 per month extra charge for physical billing. iPhone 5 Likely to be Released in September 2011

Bloomberg and The Guardian newspaper in the UK are claiming a new iPhone will be available in September and not in August as had been previously speculated. The release period is sort of leaked out by Apple’s component suppliers in Asia (as quoted in The Guardian). But as usual, Apple remains silent over the speculated date. Many sources are saying iPhone 5 will be almost similar to iPhone 4 in terms of form/appearance, sporting the same A5 processor (as in iPad 2) with improved camera. The key to iPhone 5 (or iPhone 4S as rumoured) is of course the iOS 5 which is highly anticipated and is expected to also include Apple’s new iCloud service. FilesTube Unblocked via FilesTube.Me

Filestube team has reacted towards SKMM (Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission) block on their domain by creating FilesTube.Me for Malaysians to gain access to the files search engine. The team clearly did not understand why SKMM would block their domain in Malaysia since they do not host any files on their servers. “We were extremely surpised when we received information from our fans in Malaysia that we were blocked,” a FilesTube spokesperson told TorrentFreak. “We do not host files but we act like a search engine, like Google.” I’m not sure whether SKMM would add the new domain into their list but before they do that, you can access the website at http://filestube.me/.
