Alright, the wait is over, DiGi iPhone plans have been revealed though technically it was "exposed" by @biznewsMY as reported by LiewCF on his blog. It might just be a marketing gimmick by DiGi but it doesn’t really matter now.  As many have anticipated, there is no change in the price of all iPhone models (besides this is controlled by Apple and not DiGi) but DiGi have come up with a slightly more attractive plans as shown in the comparison chart below. Click the image to enlarge.

As you can see in the chart, DiGi plans are about RM12 lower than Maxis but offer double bundled data, sms and MMS. DiGi also offers All-in-One 0% installment plans for credit card holders of participating banks: Ambank, HSBC, CIMB, Maybank and Citibank. This option is pretty good and I think Maxis would come up with a similar plans soon.

UPDATES: DECIDING WHICH PACKAGE IS GOOD FOR YOU

Now, let’s compare the two closest plan packages for both telco.

For Digi Packages
Free calls = 200min (88), 450min (138)
Free sms = 200sms (88), 400sms (138)
Data = Unlimited(local) but speed will be throttled to about 128Kbps.

For Maxis Packages
Free calls = 333min (100), 667min (155)
Free sms = 100sms (100), 200sms (155)
Data = 500MB (100), 1GB (155) , extra charges of 0.5 sen per 1Kb applies after exceeding the quota.

Now, if you’re aiming for longer talk time, then Maxis package has the advantage. If you want to spend more time on data/interent usage and sms, then DiGi is the right choice. On another note, with Wi-Fi widely available now, you probably don’t need to pay more for the data usage.

Wow so fast you get the info already… looks tempting! But just wonder how it will work when next version iPhone comes out.

So Chuah ??, what you actually think about this package? Is it worth it if someone love entertainment and surfing net to pick this phone package?

And you actually damn fast found this resource. (^_^)

Adino: Got it via liewcf. Thanks to his quick act. Haha. I still think the new version might take some time to be release and it would be more expensive. But it’s worth the wait i guess.

Kyen: If you’re in good DiGi coverage, definitely their package is better with double bundled offers. The all-in-one packages are the best and very low if you have a credit card of the participating banks.

I dont thk Digi iphone package is batter than Maxis. I found out Digi package is 24+12 months contract and Maxis only 24months. Digi 3G network probaly not stable because they just set them up and only cover 3 areas so far. Well if anyone wanna have 36months contact so good luck ^_^

    Eddy:
Yes! I do agreed what Alan said. I went to Digi to find out the iphone packages deal and I feel abit silly to tight up with 36months contract. So I went to Maxis to sign up the new package at the end. I still think Maxis have a better package than Digi.

@ALAN and Eddy: Wow, I believe you’re the same person, since your IP is exactly the same, with the same host and the time gap between your comment posting is so close. I combined your posts into one and let the rest see.

For your info, the 36-month contract is for the easy payment scheme. The 24 months contract still apply if you’re subscribing without the easy payment scheme.

besides, DIGI support sucks. I have been facing network problem with no connectivity for tha past 1 week, calling and bugging them for 4 days already…they just keep telling you to wait, close the complaint in between, promised to call back but didn’t, and now they need another 7 days to attempt to solve the problem. imagine no connectivity on your phone…for 10 days
