DiGi iPhone: “New Super Low Pricing” and Packages

DiGi (Malaysia) is now offering even more affordable plans for iPhone starting from only RM60 per month. The  iDiGi  88, 138 and 238 have been reduced to RM60, RM90 and RM160 monthly respectively. The pricing for iPhone 3GS (32GB and 18GB) and iPhone 3G has also been slashed significantly (well, not really since the upfront payment is more. Read the details below). This is perhaps inline with the global price cut since iPhone 4 is on its way.

For existing customers, you might not be able to change plans since you’re under 24-month contract. But who knows Digi might come up with other plans or rebate for existing subscribers soon.

UPDATE: The Confusing Part about DiGi  iPhone Price and Plans

Actually, the iPhone monthly plans is still the same as previous package but you pay more for the upfront payment to somehow lower the monthly fees that you’re paying. The only thing is that you can get the iPhone at a lesser price (savings of RM200).

Here’s how:

Previously :
RM1590 + RM88 x 24 = RM3702

Now :
RM2062 + RM60 x 24 = RM3502

For iDiGi 88, you must pay Digi RM28 x 24 months + the phone price as stated.
For iDiGi 138, you must pay Digi RM48 x 24 months + the phone price as stated.
For iDiGi 238, you must pay Digi RM78 x 24 months + the phone price as stated.

So for iDiGi 88, though you’re paying RM60 per month, you’re actually paying RM88 per month for 24 months since you have paid the RM28 (for 24 months) in the upfront payment. Of course, after 24 months, you can start saving on the monthly plans.

In other words, its the case of 2×5=5×2. Haha. Nice work DiGi!!

By the way, do wait till iPhone 4 is here. The price for iPhone 3GS and 3G will surely drop again.
