I guess everyone would agree that Japanese are so damn cool – they come up with the craziest ideas and actually publicize them. The latest eco campaign is by Wacoal, a leading manufacturer of ladies underwear. It seems, they will be recycling bras. No, they won’t be reselling used ones to others! They just asked some ladies who shop to drop their unwanted bras in a bag and eventually collected around 35,900 pieces and hooked them together and now they go a length of three times that of the height of Mt Everest and weigh 3.59 tons.

Another company Triumph didn’t want to lag behind so they thought of giving out 50-yen postage stamps per bag as a token of appreciation. The collected bras are processed and recycled into solid fuel.Of course, countries in the west are following this trend. Some even come with a more creative way like this:

Hahaha, at least the women are doing their part to save the planet.

Women are supporting the green movement! We all need to do our part to help make the world a better place for our children and grandchildren. The future must be green!

I’m doing my bit. I make reusable tote bags, purses and backpacks from recycled plastic shopping bags! I’m recycling for 15 different families and have kept several thousand bags from the waste stream!

When we all do our small part we can change the big picture!

What purpose does linking the bras together serve? Haha. It’s a good idea to recycle bras if it’s possible, because there isn’t much you can do with them when they’re worn out. But some are so expensive it makes me sad to throw them away… That’s $50 in the trash!
