Still remember the good old times when we used to watch the cartoons by Filem Negara on several famous Malay fables like Sang Kancil and The Crocs and The Crow and the Vain Pigeon? Well, if you’re from a younger generation than me, perhaps you never had the opportunities to watch those classic cartoons. But never fear, Terato Tech has managed to preserve those stories in a more interactive format on iPad!
Forest Fables contain several fables much like a iBook app in which you can purchase books available. Currently there are three books available, with The Crow and The Vain Pigeon available for free. The good thing is that they are all audio books that come with Bahasa Malaysia and English narrations. You can also turn on the subtitle should you want to read it while listening to the narration or vice versa.
I showed this app to several kids and they enjoyed the story in the interactive format. They enjoyed the narration very much, which I personally think it’s among the best. You don’t get quality narration for audio books these days! This would perhaps help the younger generation to know more about the Malay fables and folktales. All I can say is Syabas Terato Tech!
You can download the app by visiting the Forest fables iTunes link
