Now RIM Requests Jiwang.org to be Blocked

After banning a few file sharing websites in Malaysia, SKMM is urged by RIM to blocked another popular forum-based sharing portal, Jiwang.org, which has been in existence since 1999.

The reason being the illegal distribution of copyrighted materials especially from local artists via the portal. While actions should be taken on that aspect, I don’t think it is necessary to block access to the website. A note to the admin to remove the copyrighted materials would be better than completing blocking users’ freedom to browse the portal.

But then again, you can expect more similar websites mushrooming after this.
