ASUS chairman Johnny Shih has provided more information on the sequel to ASUS Transformer tablet, which is called as Transformer Prime (should have used Optimus! haha). The key to “Transformer 2” is its thinner design and of course the NVIDIA quad-core “Kal-El” Tegra 3 processor. ASUS’s next Android tablet is mere 8.3mm thin and with a 10.1-inch screen. It will also have the detachable plug-in keyboard that made the Transformer a unique product in the marketplace.
In his interview with AllThingsD, Shih also indicated that the existing ASUS Tablets in the market could expect Ice Cream Sandwich on the by the end of the year. He also stated that Padfone, ASUS’s combination phone-tablet-dock-thing is scheduled for a first quarter release next year.
