How to Check and Manage Your Celcom Broadband Data Usage Limit

If you’re using Celcom wireless broadband, you should be well-aware of the 5GB data usage limit based on its fair usage policy. Though your 3G/HSDPA modem may have the capability of monitoring your data usage, it is often more accurate to check your usage via Celcom Online Customer Service. Apart from checking your bill, Celcom has actually include the section to check the status of your data usage.

Of course, the first thing you need to do is to login to Celcom Customer Service webpage, available at: http://www.celcom.com.my/ocs/ If you don’t have not signed up, then please do so. All you need is your I/C number and your phone number.

Once logged-in, go to My Account>Fair Usage Policy

You’ll be prompted with the explanation of the Fair Usage Policy with four buttons below it: Check Usage, Purchase Additional Data, View Purchase History and Help.

So click Check Usage to view your current data volume. Enter the Start Date and End Date of your billing cycle, then click Search. For your info, Celcom billing cycle is on 13th day of every month, meaning the data volume would be resetted on the 13th day.

You can then view your used volume in GB and of course other info such as allocated volume, throttled speed, date and usage. This feature comes is rather good as you can monitor your usage and help you decide whether you need to buy extra volume.

Currently, Celcom offers additional volume purchase at the rate of RM5 RM15 for 1GB or RM20 RM50 for 5GB. The purchased volume will be reflected in you next bill.

UPDATES:

The latest rate for purchase of additional data volume is RM15 for 1GB and RM50.00 for 5GB.

Please consult Celcom Careline regarding pro-rate. Your first bill will exceed the actual pricing of your package depending on the pro-rate (calculation from the day of activation to your actual bill cycle date).
