How to Grab Traffics from Innit!!!

I was browsing through the Innit posts that something struck my mine – what kind of Innit post or headlines that attract attentions. This would mean that the posts get Nanged more often than the rest and hence improve traffics. Well, while it may sound obvious to most of you since Marcie Tan has done a short review on it, i decided to have a mini research just to further justify his claim. 🙂 Well, not really a research since I’m using only one evidence or data source as an instrument to justify my hypotheses. But it’ll be one good source of info, i hope.

So prior to "collecting the data", i hypothesised that:

  • #1 Innit post with sex (not gender) or sex-related words will get more Nangs.
  • #2 Innit post by female Nuffnangers will get more Nangs.
  • #3 Innit post related to blog-money-making or internet marketing will get more Nangs
  • #4 Innit post related to Nuffnang events will get more Nangs.

To check these hypotheses, data is collected from Innit popular hits tracker itself. I’ve chosen to look at the yearly popular posts data since it is calculating all-time Nangs and choosing weekly or monthly posts would be redundant. As of 25 June 2008, the most popular Innit posts are as follows:

I’ll explain each hypothesis accordingly, to give better comparison:

#1 Innit post with sex (not gender) or sex-related words will get more Nangs.

In the top 10 posts, 3 posts are sex-related with the word "have sex" and "masturbation" used. While it may be a good idea to use sex related words, i realised that compared to other posts (not in top 10) that contain sex phrases, these 3 posts received higher Nangs because it’s a rare share like the story by Sueme on Masturbation in Public. So, you’ll get more Nangs, if those sex-related stories are especially genuine because clever Nuffnangers don’t buy "cheap sex publicity!" You’ll get more Dangs than Nangs :p Anyway, 3/10 isn’t that bad, so hypothesis #1 is partially accepted.

#2 Innit post by female Nuffnangers will get more Nangs.

Suprisingly, this claim is not true because of the top 10 posts, only 4 are by female Nuffnangers. 6 are from the boys. 🙂 So It’s NOT Unfair to be a Male blogger after all! :p. Hence hypothesis #2 is rejected.

#3 Innit post related to blog-money-making or internet marketing will get more Nangs

This is amazing! Of the 10 posts, apart from the 3 posts on sex-related issues, the rest (7) are all related to blog money making strategies! Everyone seemed to be interested in knowing how to drive traffics to their blogs. Everyone wants to be the next Blogger Millionaire! 🙂 If not, why sign up for Nuffnang? Hehe. So no doubt, hypothesis #3 is accepted.

#4 Innit post related to Nuffnang events will get more Nangs.

Well, it’s obvious, isn’t it? None of the posts in Top 10 (yearly) are related to Nuffnang events, be it Pajama’s party or Wild Live Blogging. Perhaps, there are just too many blog posts on that. So the Nangs are "divided". Perhaps. Thus, hypothesis #4 is rejected.

Conclusion

From here, it’s clear that gender is not an issue, Either you’re male or female Nuffnangers, you are getting equal opportunities on Innit. Secondly, blog more on strategies to improve blog traffics or any tips on earning more money online. Nuffnangers just love it! And yeah, i realise, the title for the Top 10 innit posts are either in "exclaimation" or "question" form. I guess, there is a tendency for a person to click on your post when you sound "angry" , "surprised" and "curious". Not sure if it’s true. Just speculating. 🙂

Well, anyhow, use Innit wisely and it can be a useful tool to drive traffic!

  • But your argument is based on all-time top10 nangs where as marcie tan's argument is based on daily top10 nangs.
There is a huge difference there.
Its like saying BMW and merz is a top choice car in msia but you'll see more of proton car everyday.

  • Hmmm. I have to agree with 3POINT8. Both your researches are based on different scopes. I guess you grew his somewhat. Thing is, yours seems easier to understand. And less judgmental. Haha. Good observations. Clear hypothesis'... Not too bad at all. Haha. =p

  • Agreed with you 3POINT8. In fact, that's my intention, to look from another perspective from what Marcie tan has done. Hehehe. Anyway, glad to hear from you. :p

    pamsong: Haha...thanks for stopping by.

  • Hey keemanxp,
