Swine Flu and Racism in Malaysia
48 CommentsPosted by KeeMan on April 27, 2009 under Current Issues
I know, the title of this post just doesn't make sense to most of you, but I was stunned to hear racist statements coming from fellow Malaysians who are shallow in their thinking. Why? We all know the outbreak of swine flu in Mexico and now spreading fast to other parts of the world, especially in North America. The thing is swine flu caused by H1N1 virus (almost similar to H5N1, Avian Flu) is not... more.

Anti-PPSMI: Why go to the streets?
5 CommentsPosted by KeeMan on March 7, 2009 under Life Bytes
Suddenly, I feel rather angry with fellow Malaysians who just refuse to think properly before involving themselves in acts like demonstrating on the streets or protesting for an unclear reason. The trend in Malaysia now is that whenever you are not satisfied with something, bring it to the streets. We all know that won't help! The latest is the demonstration involving the "Anti-PPSMI" (P... more.

As many strong followers of Chedet.com have taken note, Tun Dr M's blog has now moved to a new independent "blog server", no longer depending on Blogger.com who have blocked the site due to suspected spam as reported here. So now, Tun Dr. Mahathir has a "new" blog powered by Movable Type, which i think Tun knows nothing about :) as there is a "technical crew" behind... more.

What BN Should Learn from Election 2008
4 CommentsPosted by KeeMan on March 10, 2008 under Current Issues
Well well, guess everyone is having a big discussion as to how the opposition or Barisan Rakyat managed to snap 5 states in style, especially for DAP which has done a magnificient job in sweeping their seats in Penang, Selangor and Perak. The truth is, like what Dr. M aptly put, it's not so much of supporting the Opposition, but it's rather more on NOT supporting BN for their poor record during th... more.

Four Reasons Not To Vote!

Alas, today is nomination day for Malaysia's 12th general election. And as election day is getting nearer and nearer, the various mantra and voices heard from both the government camp as well as the opposition can be rather disturbing to your ears. Of course, eligible voters like me will be pondering whether or not to exercise their rights! And if you can't think of a good reason to comfort your... more.

Remember when you were a child? I’m sure you remember something about your childhood, so let me be a little more specific. Do you remember when you were a little kid, walking through a toy store with your parents, and you saw that GI Joe or Barbie Doll that you just had to have? Then, as you walked over to the next aisle with your parents, you realized that what you really wanted was the Super... more.

When Democracy is not the best policy

I was having a healthy (by excluding those swear words in Kelantanese-Malay dialect) debate with a couple of middle-age men yesterday amidst the festive atmosphere of Hari Raya Puasa. The hot topic was initially on the upcoming election but eventually diverted to some political attacks on the current government. They debated on a lot of issues but the justifications they gave are very shallow and... more.

My oh my, after spending around RM90 million to send Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor to space, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation is said to be planning to send the second angkasawan Faiz Khaleed to space, in 2 years time. The Minister, Dato' Sri Dr. Jamaludin Jarjis, even proudly announced that another competition will be held to select a backup candidate for Faiz Khaleed, the army de... more.

Of Myanmar, Morality and Mankind

For the last couple of days, it was little Nurin's case that sparked the anger in me especially as to the level of morality among fellow Malaysians (whoever brutally killed her shall not rest in peace!!). Today it irked me to see the front page of New Strait Times, which showed the picture of a dead Buddhist monk thrown into the river, amidst the political unrest in Myanmar. What is the Junta go... more.

Yes, it's confirmed. On June 9, Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi will marry Jeanne Abdullah in a private ceremony. Weird enough, Jeanne is his late wife's former sister-in-law. Jeanne was married to Endon's younger brother but the two had split more than 15 years ago. Dato' Seri Abdullah's first wife, Allahyarham Datin Seri Endon Mahmood, died of cancer in October 2005. We... more.
