Love Thyself

You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection. - Buddha

Exabytes - The Bytes that Bite!

Exabytes

I had always wanted to own a domain name with proper web hosting after being a loyal user of free hosting services ever since 2000. After 5 years, i decided to scout around and look for reliable web hosting. I targeted Malaysia-based web hosting companies mainly due to easier transactional activity. So after Googling around and asking friends’ opinion, i was introduced to Exabytes.com, and it was my friends at Jiwang.org that mentioned how reliable their services are. I was not convinced at first so i decided to contact the sales via their chat function. And that particular moment i had with the sales person, gave me a strong impression of Exabytes in two words: Super Efficient. I mean the sales person entertained me with all my sometimes stupid questions and it was very fast, no waiting in the line or diverting you to other departments. So two days later, i registered my first domain and shared hosting (Linux Ebiz1) package with Exabytes. To tell you the truth, the price was amazingly low compared to other local web hosting packages. Well, that’s how my love affair with Exabytes began.

Of course price is just a partial reason, the main reason for my love with Exabytes is their super fast support team. Everytime i have problems with the domain or web hosting server, the support team will solve it in less than 6 hours. In fact, sometimes in less than an hour. Never have i need to wait for days before my problems or enquiries are entertained. That’s perhaps the reason why everytime my friends asked me for a reliable Malaysian web host, Exabytes will always be on my lips. Why shouldn’t i, when my experience with Exabytes has been all rosy, of course i hope their super excellent services and packages continues for years to come and i’ll continue to host this blog and my other sites with it for as long as it is still alive.

It’s 7 years of magnificent achievement for Exabytes and it’s 3 years of 200% satisfaction with Exabytes for me. Just like first love, Exabytes is really a splendid lover, it’s the bytes that bite - an everlasting bite! :)

Food Not Enough Kah?

Posted On May 05, 2008 // Lost Paradise//1 Comment

I guess everyone is clear that the prices of food products around the world is rising high of late. Everyone around the globe is talking about how to increase food production and stockpile and reduce food wastage. But hey ask Malaysians! The kings and queens of food heaven. Walk along any streets in Malaysia and you’ll find how "food" can be easily found. Bins and bins of "unfinished" rice, fried chickens, vegetables are common decoration behind Malaysian restaurants and food stalls. So, when you say that food supply in the world is drastically decreasing, a Malaysian would ask you back: "Food not enough meh? Tipulah!" or a more polite statement of  "Oh food not enough kah? I see. Never mind one, Malaysia got many many food."

While a large portion of the world populations is still fighting with food shortage and hunger, Malaysians are comfortably chewing their food and can have plenty to spare on their plates. Everytime i eat out, i notice how most Malaysians can leave at least half of whatever on their plate "untouched". I would love to see that one day, all food stalls and restaurants in Malaysia start charging for leftovers or even put a warning sign on their counters with lines like "MAKAN SAMPAI HABIS, KALAU TAK, KAMU MAKAN NAJIS" or "EAT WELL, EAT ALL, IF NOT GO TO H*LL AND PAY ALL". It’s really sad that such awareness are not inculcated to Malaysian since they’re young. Parents, for example, do not lead by example, allowing their children to be wasteful. At the very least, educate them to finish what’s on their plate and even if they can’t finish it, don’t throw it away, reuse what can be reuse. My mother used to reuse some of the leftover rice on our (my siblings and i) plates for "nasi goreng" and we don’t even realise that we’re eating back what we left. That made me realise how important it is not to be wasteful.

Well, the next time you’re thinking of throwing away your food or leftovers, think about people in other parts of the world who can barely eat a piece of bread, what’s more a Big Mac!
