Dell Adamo XPS: Slim and Superb
Review Score:

Want a laptop packed with all splendid features but don’t want to give way to heavy and bulky build? Well, say hi to Dell Adamo XPS, one of the thinnest laptops in the world (No!! It’s in fact the thinnest in the world now, up to this point). Launched not so long ago, this laptop is available in Malaysia via Dell online store. As Dell claimed, it is indeed a breath taker!

A first look at Dell Adamo XPS will be an amazing sight to behold. Firstly, it boasts a superb design in which it’s super slim (thinner than Macbook Air!). It’s only 9.99mm thick and weighs merely 1.14kg! Imagine how they managed to cram everything in! Secondly, this superb laptop opens like no laptop ever seen before. Its propped up keyboard can only be opened by sliding a finger on the lid’s heat sensing strip. How’s that to impress your girlfriend? Hahaha.

Okay, enough of the exterior look. Let’s look at what they offer on the inside:

  • Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor SU9400 (1.4GHz/800MHz FSB/3M L2 Cache)
  • 4GB DDR3 memory
  • 128GB solid state drive
  • Intel GS 45 Integrated w/ 256MB Shared
  • Superthin 13.4" HD 16:9 WLED 720p display
  • Integrated 2MP webcam and integrated mono digital microphone
  • DisplayPort, 2 USB 2.0, headphone connector. Standard connectors via external dongle: RJ45, DVI.
    Communications: 10/100 via external dongle, Bluetooth®  2.1, 802.11n (3×3)

One down side of Adamo XPS is its battery life. It last for about 3 hours. Nonetheless, this lean mean machine does it’s job amazingly fast. And if you have extra extra money to spend, you might want to consider this. Wait a minute, I forget about the price! It’s priced at RM6,799   And that would make most people’s wallet SLIMMER too….hehehe! Look at the video posted on YouTube on this product

Why don’t you consider Dell Studio. They are giving away promotion on their online store, around RM2.6k.

You cannot complain about this machine since it deserves credit for its functionality, reliability and the price cost. For average user like me, this is good.
